Re: Life / on gratitude, conversations, and mutability
My life condensed into variably interesting posts on the internet
Welcome to Re: Life 👋 !
I’m Aaryan - currently a freshman at Stanford diving headfirst into a world of biology, hardware, and mild sleep deprivation.
You’ve just stumbled on the weird corner of the internet where I chronicle my life. In every post, I share three quick updates from my life, two useful resources for you, and one idea to reflect on for the week.
Let’s begin.
Three Speedy Updates ⚡️
> Recently I posted a video on LinkedIn publicly addressing the CEO and CMO of Thermo Fisher. The point was to propose a new idea to the company and collaborate with them on it over the summer.
To all of you who shared, commented, and reminded me of your support, thank you so much. (Update: I did just end up speaking with one of the scientists at Thermo who reached out after that video - we’ll see where that takes us!)
> Spent most of my free time hopping on calls with some incredible scientists and founders in biotech. (A huge shoutout to Dr. Norm Viner, Dr. Gary Kobinger, Dr. Carralyn Collens Dr. Katrina Wisdom, Dr. Tony Kulesa, and Dr. Arun Anand, one of my longtime mentors.)
> On the side, I’ve been teaching myself immunology, playing with Python graphics in CS106A class, and engaging in sporadic shenanigans in Santa Cruz with my dormmates. I’ve also been sleeping and folding my laundry, from time to time.
Two Fun Resources 🎉

One Big Idea 🧠
A timeless quote from a16z co-founder Marc Andreessen:
“The world is a very malleable place. If you know what you want, and you go for it with maximum energy and drive and passion, the world will often reconfigure itself around you much more quickly and easily than you would think.”
Your entire universe is negotiable. You just have to ask.
Best,
Aaryan
