Re: Life (May 20) / The Timeskip
My life, condensed into variably interesting posts on the internet
For those of you that were wondering if I was nabbed by a biker gang for the past few months, I hope you remember my life isn’t remotely interesting enough for something that to happen. Things just got a little hectic since I was busy preparing for some grade 11 midterms and retaking the SAT. Time flies by fast though (not just when you’re having fun, but in general), so here we are again.
As for this newsletter, I’ve made a few changes. I’ll be sharing roughly the same amount of thoughts + info, just now at a more regular pace and in posts that you can get through with 2-3 scrolls of the mouse. Let’s get started.
What I’ve been up to
//: Practicing for IB French examinations. A lot of this surprisingly involved taking some of the basic words I know and then pulling a series of thesaurus.com queries to make them sound fancier. like to think of it like house-flipping, but for words (and you don’t get paid to do it).
//: Reviewing the principles of electromagnetism to see if I can hack together a little wind energy generation that I’ve had in my head for quite a while. More specifically, I’m learning about Faraday’s laws of electromagnetic induction and all the formulas (formulae?) that come with it.
//: Spent some time calling random local businesses in my town (think Holiday Inn, Walmart, etc.) and asking them about the biggest technical/financial issue they’re facing. Then, I asked them if I could think of a solution and come back to them, just like an independent consultant. This was more for the discomfort, but still cool.
Thought of the Week
If you look back at your own life, you’ll see that moments of discomfort and moments growth have never been far apart. Yet it’s easy to keeping forgetting that you can only get somewhere if you’re willing to get past the hesitation of staying where you are.
Evolution can only work if you give it a good enough reason to.
Food for thought: : “Is your life uncomfortable enough?”
For another day,

//: Thanks for reading! I’m Aaryan - I’m a high-schooler from Canada, and my main work lies at the intersection between hardware and medicine, trying to build better diagnostics / imaging systems to help us treat cancer. When I’ve had enough of that, I watch the occasional episode of Silicon Valley and listen to lo-fi music. Frankly, I have no idea what I’m doing here, but that’s fine, since no one else really does anyway ;)
